Youth Mission

Youth Mission

Our youth are involved in a variety of service projects as well as on-going service to our community. At this time, our most active ministry is our Little Free Pantry. This Pantry, built by our youth with adult guidance, provides  our community with essentials during a time when more and more people experience food insecurity. The need for this ministry has become greater since March of 2020; stocking and maintaining the pantry is an ongoing mission for our youth.

Our youth are involved in a variety of service projects, trips and on-going service to our community.

Youth Mission/Mission trips. At least once a year a group of middle school and high school students, led by adults from our congregation, travel to other communities to spend a week serving. In 2019, missionaries from our church visited St. Thomas to help with the hurricane relief efforts and Niagara Falls where our group served in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior centers and volunteer with children’s programming. A trip to Philadelphia in the spring of 2020 had to be canceled, but we hope to resume these trips when it is safe to do so.

Youth Mission/Service projects – youth of all ages participate in projects throughout the year, including an annual school supply drive, Coats for Kids, and preparing and serving lunch for Habitat for Humanity volunteers. This year we plan to make prayer shawls for young children and teens, pick fresh apples to donate to a local food pantry and provide Thanksgiving Baskets to CAPTAIN.

Youth Mission/Little Free Pantry – In all seasons, the Little Free Pantry, built by our youth with adult guidance, provides our community with essentials during a time when more and more people experience food insecurity. The need for this ministry has become greater since March of 2020; stocking and maintaining the pantry is an ongoing mission for our youth. Groceries may be dropped off at the CCRC office anytime.
