Congregational Care

Congregational Care

Samaritan Care, a subcommittee of Congregation Care, is a quiet ministry whose members work behind the scenes offering love and support to the congregation in various ways such as meals, transportation, visitation and memorial/funeral receptions. Activities include:

  • Writing monthly notes of support and encouragement to members who are experiencing difficulties or illness.
  • Providing intercessory praying through our Prayer Tree Ministry on behalf of all members and their families.
  • Offering love through our Prayer Shawl Ministry, knitting or crocheting shawls, weaving good thoughts and prayers of healing, hope and love into each piece so it will comfort and warm the recipient. The shawls are a visible symbol of God’s loving arms holding us and reassuring us in times of need.
  • Supporting specific needs through our Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers are trained to provide confidential, one-on-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
