Worship  |  Communion Schedule

Christ Community Reformed Church (CCRC) is part of the Reformed Church in America, the oldest active Protestant denomination in the United States with a continuous ministry. The Reformed Church in America is solidly in the mainstream of the American Protestant Church life. If you are not familiar with it, it is most similar to the Presbyterian style of worship and church management philosophy.

Worship

At Christ Community Reformed Church (CCRC), our worship service is a strong statement of our Christian belief as expressed in our Church Covenant. The gathered family of faith approaches God in prayers, strong classic hymnody and readings from the Psalms. The congregation listens for God's word to us in the reading of the Scriptures and in the sermons. Three choirs lead the congregation in singing and with anthems.

  • Sunday 10:00 am: The main gathering of the congregation in the sanctuary to worship our Lord in the cycle of the church year. (July thru Labor Day 9:30 am)
  • Sunday 7:30 am: There is a smaller gathering in the Chapel for early birds, workers, or active sports people.
  • Wednesday 7:00 pm: Evening Prayer in the Chapel includes monthly Communion and Baptismal Renewal.

Christ Community's worship experience is described as dignified and intellectually stimulating. The pastor offers sermons following the common lectionary or responding to current situations. The worship strives to be both stimulating and challenging while at the same time attempting to rediscover the awe and mystery of worship in the music and prayers. Symbols and rituals from other Christian traditions enrich the worship hour. For example, each Sunday the worshippers stand and unite in prayer to sing "Grant us Wisdom, Grant us Courage, for the living of these days." The theme, "...where faith is a confident adventure," underlies the themes from week to week.
