Cross
References is our monthly newsletter. Its purpose
is to inform members and friends about church
activities, highlight important events, and share
information that builds a sense of community. In the
newsletter you will read columns written by the minister
and members, a monthly calendar of events, and feature
stories about our church life and mission. Cross
References with monthly calendar of events is placed in
member mailboxes or sent to members and friends each
month except July.
New activities and opportunities are always under
consideration. Anyone interested in any of the above
activities is warmly invited and welcome! Watch church
calendar and announcements for times. For specific
information or questions, please contact Hospitality
Committee Chair.
Missionaries to Visit
Each month in
Cross References
you find a mission update from
Eric and Nancy Titus,
RCA missionaries in Croatia. We at CCRC are one of
their supporting churches. We are happy to announce
that the Titus’ will be visiting us on
Sunday, October 25th.
Eric will participate in worship and Nancy will speak
with our Middle School young people during Sunday
School. What a wonderful opportunity for us to hear
first hand about their experiences and to get to meet
the family! Please check the October update, included
in this issue, which will give you more information
about their time home here in the US.

Songs of Love, Loss and Hope - Our Own
Song-Gift Weekend
On
Saturday, October 17th at 7:00 pm
Lorraine Nelson Wolf
will present a concert
in our sanctuary. We are excited to be able to host
this special evening of inspirational songs by a
multi-talented composer, musician and singer.
Lorraine’s original music speaks of life’s loves, losses
and hopes, reaching out with a voice that will touch
your soul. Lorraine has a wonderful gift that connects
her listeners with her music on a deeply personal level,
bringing emotions to the surface that so many times are
left unexpressed.
Coming from a
diverse musical background, Lorraine holds Bachelors and
Masters degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and
Purchase Conservatory. As a theater musician, she has
performed in over a dozen Broadway shows. Lorraine is a
life-long church musician, having served as a music
director in various denominations over the past two
decades.
A free-will offering will be received at the
concert and a fellowship time will follow.
Her Song-Gift weekend
will conclude for us on
Sunday, October 18th,
as she will offer a song during our worship times
written especially for our congregation.
You won’t want
to miss this weekend of music and inspiration. Put the
date on your calendar, pass the word around. What a
wonderful opportunity to reach out, invite others to
“come to church” and share in this event.
